What is SDSU Men’s Club Soccer?

San Diego State University Men’s Club Soccer is a student-run sports club under Associated Students, consisting of 50 full-time student-athletes who are passionate about hard work, playing soccer at a high level, community service, and competitive excellence.

What we accomplish:

Being one of the few collegiate club teams to play year-round, we compete from August to April in league, regionals, nationals, and other tournaments. Additionally, the team is very active in alumni events, fundraising, community service, and giving back to the community. We also are very involved with the most recent MLS team in town, SDFC, nurturing relationships and connections with people who are passionate about having a long-lasting soccer community.

Apart from fundraising, hosting various events, and giving back to the community, the SDSU Men’s Club Soccer Team continues to perform at a top level, allowing us to participate in nationally recognized tournaments. The team has continued to compete in regional tournaments, winning Aztec Cup in 2023, and winning Director’s Cup in Arizona back-to-back years. Last season, the club booked their ticket to participating in the NIRSA Club Collegiate National Tournament for the second time in the past 5 years. Not only did we participate, but we won our group in the group stage, became a top 8 team in the open bracket, and established being a top 3 club collegiate program in southern California.

Why we need your help:

Over the past five years, SDSU Men’s Club Soccer has grown from a team of just 16 players into a thriving program with over 50 student-athletes and two competitive teams. These players come from diverse backgrounds but share one common goal: winning. Both teams compete in a combined five tournaments each season, including the prestigious NIRSA Club Collegiate National Tournament in Austin, Texas. However, traveling and participating in these tournaments can cost each player an additional $400–$600, on top of the $800 in seasonal dues. Your tax-deductible donation, of any amount, will directly help our players compete in these tournaments and continue our mission to bring trophies back to SDSU.
